Our Trip to Visit Gia Roccatani
Nov 3, 2002
On Sunday, November 3rd, Sally and I visited Gia Roccatani, my first cousin
once removed (See http://www.rootsweb.com/~billingh/relation.shtml
).
These photos are lower resolution to make for faster
loading, if you want the high resolution version, send me an email and I will
email them to you : markd@san.rr.com
Also there were Gia's parents, Fred and Rose Roccatani, and Gia's new significant
other, Nick.
To start, here is Gia in front of her new house in Chino Hills, CA. A really
big place - 5 bedrooms!
The inside (ask me sometime about that coffee table):
We had a nice time visiting, a great fish dinner cooked on the BBQ and some
really interesting stuffed Zucini. After dinner, we took a walk around her
new neighborhood. There is a new park being built nearby called Big League
Dreams.
It is a bunch (6 maybe) of ball fields each modeled after an old Major League
baseball park. The outfield walls are painted to look like stands filled with
people. There I took a few group photos. Here is Nick, Gia, Fred and Rose.
Here is me, Sally, Rose, Gia and Nick (Fred took the photo).
Here is Rose and Fred.
Here is Nick and Fred checking out the visiting team dugout.
I forgot to mention, the gates to the field were locked but Gia found a
way in.
We had dessert (made by Sally) when we got back to Gia's house. Here is
a picture (as it was getting dark) of Gia's backyard. Over the past year,
Gia, Fred, and Nick transformed it from an empty piece of dirt to a yard
with grass, a covered patio and a planter.
We had a great time seeing them. It had been a couple of years since our
last get together.
