Born of Otelia and Joseph Gumpl, her brothers were George and Joseph. She grew up on a farm and kept her connection to the land, always keeping a garden. She graduated in 1956 as a Registered Nurse from the Saint Thomas Nursing School. She remained a nurse her whole life, even after retiring from practice, always being ready to help anyone in need. Wed to John V. ``Nino' Carlini in 1958, she bore children, Giuliano (1960), Marisa (1961) and Marcella (1965) with grandchildren Nicholas (1991), Marcus (1992), Mia (2003), Matteo (2003), Nico (2005).
She moved to California in 1961, but fondly recalled her birthplace always.
She had a kind, gentle, generous spirit. She accepted and loved all who came into her life and was in turn loved by them all. She will be missed.
