Sex offender stabbed, left for dead, survives
Erie Times-News
BUTLER -- An Erie man was nearly killed Thursday night after being stabbed nine times and left for dead.
Butler police said an off-duty policeman found Tony Orlando Frazzini, 39, of Erie, bleeding profusely from his neck and chest. He was found on a sidewalk near the corner of Seventh Avenue and West New Castle Street at 10:42 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, Frazzini identified Lerhonda Anne Starnes, 42, of North East, as his attacker.
Police said Frazzini told officers Starnes attacked him because he is a registered sex offender. Frazzini's name appears on the Pennsylvania Megan's Law Web site.
Officers arrested Starnes near where the attack took place. Police charged her with attempted murder and aggravated assault. She was arraigned by a local district judge and sent to Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Frazzini was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is listed in fair condition.
Detectives are still investigating.
