Note: email from granddaughter, Ann Marie DiVecchia Piantedosi, Oct 2008.
email from great grandson, Tim Simmons, Oct 2008: "Hi Mark, I've been using your site a lot recently to research my family. With the help of some second & 3rd cousins, aunts, uncles etc, we've pieced together a good part of our family tree. Your "Graphical Family Tree (Part 2) Other DiVecchia branches..." links to our family. I can fill in some blanks on that page if you are interested in the information.
We are descended from the Marco DiVecchia & Maria Felice Palmieri marriage. They had two children Anna Gioconda DiVecchia and Carmine Divecchia (born 1886). Carmine and his wife Anna Maria DiPietroantionio, are my Great Grandfather and Great grandmother. Anna Marie's family is well documented back through the Pantalone family to the 1600's. I can trace Carmine back to Giacomo DiVecchia b 1735.
Carmine and Anna Maria had 6 children: Paolina, Jerry, Angelo (born 1919), Guido, Alba and Antionette. The latter 3 are still living and provided some of this information. Angelo was my grandfather, (died in 2001), he had 5 children my mother Shirley is one of them. I can provide all of the descendents of the 6 people above. But that's a lot of people. Angelo's descendents are all in northern California. All the rest are in the Boston area.
Thanks for making the information available!!"
email from great grandson, Tim Simmons, Oct 2008: "Paolina moved back to Italy. Jerry, Guido, Alba and Antionetta settled in the Boston area along with Carmine and his wife. Guiido, Alba and Antonetta are still living. They all have kids and grandkids. One family came out to visit maybe 8 years ago. I haven't had much contact with them, I met Alba when I was in high school, I'm 44 now."

email from Carla del Papa, Sep 2009, describes the family: "I know for certain that this DiVecchia family is from Sant'Eufemia a Maiella . Antionette DiVecchia Paoletti and I are quite close relatives. Her mothers name was Anna Maria DiPietrantonio . There were many marriages from Sant'eufemia that were between the Pantalone and the DiPietrantonios . My paternal grandparents for certain. Antionette was the youngest of her family. She herself told me that she had an older brother that lived in California. His name was Angelo , however they called him Johnny. She didn't know him well. She being the youngest stayed in Italy with her mother while her father was in America.. Eventually they came to Watertown , MA. I am uncertain as to when her siblings came to the states. I dont know her older brother, however, I do know the other siblings. Guido, lives in Waltham , MA, Alba DiVecchia Funari had lived in Needham , MA she recently moved to NH. Her brother Juerino ( jerry ) is deceased, he lived in Watertown . His age would be close to 90. He and my father were great friends. Antionette sister Paolina ( sp ) lived in Boston. Although I think she may have also lived a good part of her life in Sante'eufemia . She was much older than I, so I didn't really know her. Her son Nick and his wife Lena ( Alberico ) have a restaurant in the North End of Boston. I am just coming to realize that Paolina must have also married a DiPietrantonio ."
