Concettina "Connie" Lusetti
On January 15, 2005, the angels came for Connie, 90, to reunite her with Rich, her husband of 53 years. Born Concettina Fortuna Lombardi on January 31, 1914, in San Pedro Villan, Italy, she immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 5 with her parents, settling in Ely, Nevada. She graduated from White Pine High School in Ely and then married Richard Lusetti in 1935.
The Lusetti's moved to Reno in 1940, where they made their home, and owned and operated Lusetti's Home Appliance & TV until 1981. Connie was active in the Saint Mary's Hospital Guild, 20th Century Club, and Y.L.I. of Reno. She supervised the St. Thomas Aquinas school lunch program and volunteered at Manogue High School for many years. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing weekly with her longtime friends. She was also a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents, two sisters, and a brother. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Lusetti Hill of Reno; son Jim Lusetti (Nanci) of Alta Loma, CA; grandchildren Connie Wheeler (Kevin), Dawn Fune (Todd), Darci Lusetti, Jimmy Lusetti (Jennifer); and four great-grandchildren, Rick Wheeler, Zach Wheeler, Madeline Santiano, and Hayli Marie Lusetti; sister Ida Perry (Gabe); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Reno, with burial to follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Walton Funeral Home, Reno.
We love and miss you...you will be in our hearts forever.
