Anthony J. Di Sanzo Sr., 75, of Freedom, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born May 15, 1932, in Freedom, a son of the late Antonio and Evelyn A. Giacoma Di Sanzo, he was a retired car repairman for Conrail and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Freedom Volunteer Fire Department, working the Wednesday and Thursday bingo; the Sons of Italy, Freedom, and St. Felix Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Malackanich Di Sanzo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony J. Jr. and Lisa Di Sanzo, Freedom, and Jeffrey A. and Suzanne Di Sanzo, Brighton Township; five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jordyn, Abigail, Jeffrey and James, and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Antoinette Zupsic, Monaca; Phyllis Di Sanzo, Freedom, and Frances and Billi Osbun, Freedom. He will also be missed by his special friends at the Sons of Italy in Freedom.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Eugene Di Sanzo, and a sister, Esther Denney.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF ROCHESTER, www.huntsmanfuneralhomes.com , 502 Adams St., where prayer services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Felix Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Freedom, with the Beaver County Special Unit providing full military honors at 10:45 a.m.
