Former Laborer of Railway Dies
Domenico Di Pierro, 87, former laborer for the Southern Pacific company, and resident of Ogden for more than 40 years died at eight-thirty o'clock Saturday evening at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mike Riche, 2681 Lincoln avenue, of infirmites of age.
He was born October 1, 1848, in San Pietro Avellana, Italy, a son of Andonio and Andonietta Gatti Di Pierro. He was schooled in Italy, and worked as a railroad laborer there before coming to the United States in 1892. Denver was his home for a couple of years, and in 1894 he returned to Italy, staying a short time. He again came to America, landing at Montreal, Canada, where he remained about three months, coming on to Ogden in 1896, and this has since been his home. He retired in 1922 on account of age.
He was married in Italy, his wife dying there 28 years ago. She never left her native land. Mr. Di Pierro was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Amedio Di Pierro and Mrs. Mike Riche, both of Ogden and four grandchildren. Funeral announcement will be made by the Kirkendall-Darling mortuary.

diCianno, Maria {I5040} (b. , d. 14 Jan 1915)
Note: Transcribed 1846 SPA birth records of daughter Maddalena.
From John Mariani's Life Story, he remember great-grandmother Pasqua. So this might Maria Pasqua. He remembered the date of death as the day after the Avezzano earthquake. From Internet sources "An earthquake on 13 January 1915 shakes southern Italy. The town of Avezzano at its epicentre is completely destroyed. The death toll is estimated to be at least 30,000." So she must have died on 14 Jan.
