What I can tell you is that Rosa came from Torricella Peligna, Italy. There were a few Mariani's born in Torricella Peligna. That may be where Emilio was born. Have you ever been to the Torricellapeligna.com website? They have a lot of genealogy regarding people that were born there. Rosa Nicolo was born there.

I believe Rosa's brother Louis (Luigi) Nicolo lived in the same place as Emilio. Rosa came to the US with her father to visit her brother Luigi and I think that's when they met. Rosa stayed in the US with her brother and then married Emilio. Her father went back to Italy."

Born August 7, 1930, Salt Lake City to Emilio and Rosa Nicolo Mariani. Married Shirley Larson, December 8, 1956 in Salt Lake City. Member FOE #67 and APWU Local #6. Served 32 years with the US Postal Service.

Survivors: wife; son, Kelly and wife Heidi; daughter, Mrs. Terry (Cindy) Rosenlund, all of Salt Lake City; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sherry) Arthur, Vero Beach, Florida; brothers and sisters, John, Salt Lake City; Joseph, San Leandro, California; Viola Defa, Hanna, Utah; Stella Frazzini and Angie Costantino, both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; seven grandchildren.

They lived in a mining town by Walsenburg was called Concrete, the town is gone now. also my mom was born in Portland Co in Fremont County. after my grandfather died which I was told in a coal mine. Esa lived for years in Denver Co . That is where she died. Boston's wife died and then he married Esa. A lot of them are buried in Roselawn. Boston lived in Pueblo with his first wife and I am guessing that Esa moved in to his home when they married. They followd the coal mines as that is what Boston did for a living. I've also tried to reseach him with little luck."

Ancestry.com shows a Peter Bartolomucci (SSDI b 21 Sep 1895 d Nov 1969) who lived and died in Pueblo, CO. Might be related. WWI Draft Reg b: 21 Sep 1895 in Pastena. Now found EI arrival 1913 which lists his father in Pastena - Michele. So he is not a brother of Domenico but likely a cousin.

From Anna Gloria Carlini, Jan 2006, written to Dave DeSanzo:
"I have contucted some research to go back to the sources of our family. The father of your grandfather Luigi was Giuseppe Di Sanza, named "Peppe d' Ambrosio" ; it means "Ambrogio' s son" ("Peppe" is the short name of Giuseppe). Ambrogio Di Sanza was syndic (head of the municipal administration of San Pietro Avellana) in the years 1877-1878. Di Sanza people lived in San Pietro Avellana already XVIII century, as well as proves a memorial tablet placed on an ancient fountain. In ancient times the surnames formed with "Di" or "De" or "Da" showed where the people coming from or the father's name (for example DE ROMA, DIGIOVANNI, DA MILANO).
In southern Italy there is a village named SANZA (near Naples) but there isn't any evidence that Di Sanza family was coming from the village of SANZA.
During the last medieval centuries and the first centuries of the modern age, Spanish governed Southern Italy, and still in local language there are many spanish words; but, I never heard that Di Sanza family comes from Spain!"
