He was put in a Dementia home and he swore he was in Dawson and got there by bus. He was telling us about his friends of his younger days. He always talked about his friend Jay Cericola. He always told me the story of how the mine collapsed and killed his good friend the foreman. He said he and Pete Montoya were inches away of getting buried alive themselves. He told me how he and Pete dug themselves out of the dirt and rubble searching for their lights. His "scratches and bruises" turned out to be a pole that went down his leg but he was able to walk after a while of mending. My grandfather was not one to make the story about himself. He only let me know what happened to him after I nagged him for some time. His story was always about Jay and Pete. He would always say Jay was a great guy and that he was glad to have known him. He was a hard worker and a family man. Just wanted to share a piece of my grandfather with you all."

Our Antie Mary (Mary Arcangeli) passed away in Raton on October 10th. I believe she was the last live sibling of my mom Anna Mae and a bunch of other ants and uncles. I have been rechecking all your excellent family tree info in the past couple of days. My sister Carol and brother Bill have also taken a look at it. We are so appreciative of your hard work - it helps fill in missing pieces for us. I finally figured out the brother/sister pairs that both married - one was my moms grandparents! I remember my mom speaking about it, but I had never looked closely enough at your tree until now! Bill spoke with Everni Arcangeli who is Mary's son - he goes by Sonny. I plan to speak with Elaine Wade very soon - Mary's daughter. She is the one who has Uncle Oreste's cedar chest. We loved Antie Mary very much - I saw her last on a visit about 8 years ago. Obituary for Mary Lorenzo Arcangeli

Mary Lorenzo Arcangeli was born in Dawson, New Mexico December 21, 1921 to Joe Lorenzo and Laura Dell Croce. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Everni Arcangeli, her parents and ten brothers and sisters.

Mary, a beautiful well-dressed lady, is best remembered as a wonderful, loving and caring mother, sister and friend. She gave special attention to all her grandchildren and loved having them visit. Mary was an excellent cook and loved baking and giving to others at holidays. She had a great eye for color and design and hand stitched several beautiful quilts. Her door was always open and her home was the gathering place for all her relatives and friends.

Mary was employed by the War Dept. Army Air Forces as a Jr. laborer at Ogden Air Service Command in November of 1943. Many remember her voice as the switch board operator in Dawson for Phillips Dodge as well as the desk clerk at the El Portel Hotel, or the kindness she showed working many years as a nurse for Dr. Keil. After retirement Mary enjoyed volunteering at MCMC.

Mary leaves behind two children, a daughter Elaine Marie and husband Jim Wade, a son Everni D. and wife Nancy Arcangeli; four grandchildren - Jackie and husband George Riley, Jimmy and wife Darla Wade, Anna Arcangeli Walsh, David Enrico and wife Elizabeth Arcangeli; ten great grandchildren – Katie Riley, Darcy Riley, James Wade and wife Barbie, Dustin Wade and finance Cassie, Ashley and husband Aaron Gendron, Lorenzo Wade, Josh Walsh and wife Sabrina, Lucas Walsh, Bella Walsh, and Danny Arcangeli; three great, great, grandchildren – Aiden Riley, Mavrick Wade, and Dominic Gendron. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Your historical information is very interesting. My mom passed away in 1989 and my brother, sister and I have wondered about the early history of the family, but have had no one to ask. I recognize many of the names on the family tree, partly from my mom talking about them, but a few from meeting them as a kid!

She always told us she thought we were from the far north in Italy. She was one of the younger of the ten children, so maybe they just did not fill her in very well. She also moved to the Chicago area after she married, although we made a long yearly trek out to Denver, then Raton every summer."

1979 obituary of daughter Nettie in the Daily Herald, Provo, UT. Mother's name is listed as Filliomena Anicheoo Colaianna. I had written this in 2011:

"Sooo, there was only one pubblicazione record. That could mean a couple
of things:

1. Emidio and Eleucadia never got married (someone objected??) but had
a daughter in 1871 named Filomena who would then use her mother's surname.
The birth records, if only we could see it, might say that the father is
unknown, might say that the child is from a union with an unmarried man,
or might say that father did not wish to be identified.

2. Emidio and Eleucadia got married in Vastogirardi where all three pubblicazione
were published and where the marriage record resides. If this is the
case, her surname would have been Iannacito from birth. In 1891, Filomena
certainly knew herself as Filomena Frazzini, not Iannacito.

If she was born with the surname Frazzini, she knew that her
father was an Iannacito. Its most likely that he lived with them
and they were a family. In fact, it is possible that they were married
in the Church but never had a civil marriage. At some point, after
she was married, she started to use Iannacito (or Yannacito or Cito).

So these are all the same people. Filomena Fratzino is Filomena Frazzini
is Thelma Yannacito."

M. Arlene Butler
May 12, 1931 – March 18, 2015

M. Arlene Butler, 83, passed away quietly at home on March 18, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Leonard “Chug” Butler; son, Scott (Marilyn) Butler; grandson, Ryan Butler; brother-in-law, Jim (Madeline) Butler; numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene is preceded in death by daughter, Sandi Butler; parents, Charles and Marie Frazzini; brothers, Charles and Don Frazzini and adored pets. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved animals, flowers and plants which gave her comfort and strength through years of challenging health issues. She loved her longtime friends; Mary and John Graheck, Mary Lou Litton and countless others. Special thanks to her loving caregivers; Helen, Gloria and Donna. We will all miss her until we meet again. Viewing, 12 noon, followed by funeral service, 1 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at George McCarthy Historic Chapel with entombment at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Under the direction of George McCarthy Funeral Home.
