I, Jacob Leonard, of the County of Lincoln, and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my Earthly existance do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say First, That my executor herinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate. In turn, I give and devise to my beloved Grandchild Charley A. Leonard one horse (John), one two horse wagon, one cow, one heifer and one bull and their increase, three breeding sows and four shoats and ten pigs and their increase, all my blacksmith tools, also all my farming tools, also one half of my household and kitchen furniture. Also one half of my bee stands and bees. In turn, I give and devise to my beloved daughter, Sarah Leonard, one mule named (Jack), one cow and calf and their increase. Also one half of my household and kitchen furniture. Also one half of my bee stands and bees. Also one kettle (pot). And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend, Franklin Leonard, my lawful Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last Will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and my part and clause there of hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof, I, the said Jacob Leonard, do hereunto set my hand and seal this the fifteenth day of March AD 1875. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Jacob Leonard to be his last Will and Testament in the presents of us who at his request and in his presents do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.
